Milestones are happy occasions. They are days that remind us of our tenacity to survive, our persistence, our love and passion for someone or something as well our triumph over evil (okay yes, the last one was a bit dramatic).
Wedding anniversaries, birthdays, end of year parties are some of the more common milestones – especially navjotes and weddings that are celebrated with much pomp and style within the Parsi community. It is a shame however that in the rigours of daily life we often forget to celebrate the more everyday milestones we achieve. From going to the gym six days in a row to completing six months of a new venture, these smaller achievements are great opportunities to pause, take stock and thank not only yourself but also those that may have touched your life in various different ways.
Acknowledging these milestones not only double as an excuse to celebrate but also refresh you and provide new insights into reaching your goal.
At Bawi Bride, we recently reached one such milestone – completing six months of operations as a catering service and seven months as a food blog. While I could have waited for an entire year to celebrate I just didn’t have the patience.
To celebrate this small milestone, I had a few friends over for a thanksgiving dinner of some Dhandar, Lagan no Patio, Grandpa’s Kebabs and Kaju Chicken. While I would have loved to call all of you – I think #BawiSasu would have had a bit of shock if I did. So, here are some pictures of the special night for you to relive with me.
It is thanks to your support as a reader and to those special people that have touched my life these past few months that our great progress has been possible. So, thank you!
